We are pleased to announce that Laura Schranz will joining the UNC/NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering on November 6, 2017 as the Department’s Director of Development. Laura most recently served as director of development for the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). During her tenure Laura managed a portfolio of 150+ major, annual and corporate gift prospects, and worked with each of the seven academic schools, deans and faculty of NYIT. Laura came to NYIT from The Philanthropic Resource Group, Inc. (February 1998 – September 2008), where she served as the Director of Grants / Government Relations. Her many accomplishments at the Philanthropic Resource Group included being the account executive for a $19 million Capital Campaign. Prior to that, Laura was Director of Outreach for the Hope Lutheran Church in Selden, NY. In addition, she was a Campaign Manager for the 2006 New York State Senate Campaign for New York’s 3rd District. Laura received a Master’s Degree in Communication Arts, Public Relations & Advertising from the New York Institute of Technology; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook. We are very enthusiastic that Laura will be joining the Joint Department.
