Dr. Zhen Gu is brilliant, kind, and personable, and is arguably one of the most innovative biomedical scientists in the nation today. The Triangle Business Journal, a local publication with a large presence, has taken notice of this and has named Zhen as their 2017 Rising Star Health Care Hero. The Health Care Heroes Awards, now in its 16th year, is a program that honors Triangle individuals and organizations for putting innovation and compassion to work to improve the human condition. Zhen, along with the other winners, will be honored at the annual Awards banquet in March.
