Dr. Ashley Brown and an inter-institutional team of researchers from NC State, UNC, and Duke have recently been awarded a Duke/NC State Clinical and Translational Science Award to study synthetic platelets for wound healing. The award mechanism was developed to encourage collaborative inter-institutional teams to conduct novel clinical and translational research. Working on the project are Drs. Maureane Hoffman and Laura Sommerville (Duke); Dr. Dougald Monroe III (UNC); and Dr. Ashley Brown and Seema Nandi (BME). We invite you to read more about the study at Duke Clinical and Translational Science News.

Congratulations to the research team! BME looks forward to reporting the outcomes from our continued collaborations.
