BME Dayton lab students Thomas Kierski and Izzie Newsome have recently won second and fourth place in Visualizing Physical Acoustics Research Picture Awards at the 2019 IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium in Glasgow, Scotland. Their high-resolution 3D microvascular images showed kidney and tumor blood vessels. The top three places were recognized in front of the full conference participants of more than 1800 attendees and included a cash prize. Moreover, this is the first time the IIE IUS Symposium has been held in the United Kingdom, bringing together academic and industrial researchers in the field of ultrasonics and closely related topics, from a host of countries around the world for scientific exchange, to inspire new ideas, to sell products, and to launch new projects. Great work and congratulations to both Thomas and Izzie!
