One of BME’s professors, Dr. Koji Sode, recently attended the 18th Annual Diabetes Technology Meeting in Bethesda, MD. Per their website, the Diabetes Technology Society (DTS) is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting development and use of technology in the fight against diabetes. At the opening of the meeting, Dr. Sode, a BME William R. Kenan Jr. Distinguished Professor, was awarded the society’s prestigious Leadership Award in recognition of significant leadership, vision, and research. The award was presented to Dr. Sode by none other than the president of the Diabetes Technology Society, Dr. David Klonoff. A photo of the award is below; a list of past winners can be found on the DTS website.

A warm congratulations to Dr. Sode for this recognition! We are lucky to have him here at BME!
