Dr. Susan Bernacki, a 15-year veteran of the Department, was honored yesterday with an Award for Excellence given by the College of Engineering at NC State. In a ceremony emceed by Engineering Dean Louis Martin-Vega, Susan was recognized for her outstanding service and exceptional devotion to duty that goes well above and beyond expectations. Highlights of Susan’s many accomplishments include developing: the Cell Mechanics Lab, the BME Culture Core, the Tissue Engineering Minor along with its associated courses, and establishing a strong BME partnership with BTEC.
Susan was joined in the ceremony by fellow nominees Joanie Moritz-Smith and Lauren Jones who received their Department Awards for Excellence.
