For Camp Invention (grades K-6), the National Inventor Hall of Fame creates comic-book superhero characters for its “rock stars,” the NIHF inductees. BME’s Dr. Fran Ligler’s character has just been revealed–and will no doubt be used by the camp for many years to come.
Last year, less than 1% of Camp Invention sites had NIHF inductees visit their students. Raleigh’s own Swift Creek Elementary hosted Fran and her husband, Dr. George Ligler, who will be returning to the school next June 28 for another successful year of NIHF camp. Fran has also volunteered to visit another 2018 North Carolina Camp Invention with campers from underserved communities.
