BME faculty Dr. Zhen Gu’s smart insulin patch was included on Science Magazine’s list of top 10 images of 2015. The full article can be read here. The smart insulin patch is designed to automatically detect and manage blood sugar levels. The small patch is covered in microneedles, which store insulin and a glucose-sensing enzyme that can recognize increases in blood sugar.
