Two students in Dr. Ted Bateman’s Lab, Joseph Welsh, an undergraduate student, and Lindsay Sullivan, a Ph.D. student, were awarded a NASA/NC Space Grant Fellowship. Joseph will be working with Dr. Anthony Lau, an NSBRI Postdoctoral Fellow, to investigate bone strength changes in mice after long duration spaceflight using computational modeling. Lindsay’s proposed work investigates bone strength changes for MuRF-1 knockout mice flown on SpaceX-4. Congratulations to Joseph and Lindsay!
