Team Delta Dose won first place at IdeaFest 2015 on February 27 in Danville, Virginia. The members of the team, BME students Allie Pinosky, Kevin Simpson, Alanna Smith, and Jenna Kilgore are developing a device that speeds up the process of intranasal drug delivery. Their device simultaneously doses and delivers medication. Delta Dose is hoping to continue developing it with the military for use in pain management applications. Delta Dose has also spoken with emergency medical service providers to discuss applying the device to opioid reversal treatments. In the future the team hopes that their device will be available in multiple doses and available for use with more medications. Team Delta dose won $5,000 in prize money, free consulting service time, and the People’s Choice Award and its accompanying $500 prize. Congratulations to Team Delta Dose!
