Two teams of UNC and NC State students have been accepted into the 2015 Carolina Challenge. The first team, Nervana Biomedical, is comprised of NC State students Aaron Srivastava, Anna Komsa, Bryan Burke, Kory Mack, and Nathan Titus. Duke Neurosurgery is collaborating.
The second team, WolfRam Innovations, is a collaboration of UNC and NC State seniors that attended Coulter College over the past summer and are working with both UNC and Duke Neurosurgery. This team is comprised of NC State seniors Margaret Reiff and Jillian Nyberg and UNC seniors Clement Gurrey, Taylor Comte, and Bryson Goolsby.
Both of these teams’ (and all 8 other UNC-based BME student teams’) proposals have been accepted into the ASAIOfyi-for young innovators 3rd Annual Student Design Competition at the ASAIO’s 61st Annual Conference in Chicago. These BME teams will present their projects as a podium presentation and a poster. One member of each team will be awarded a travel stipend, one complementary conference registration, and a complimentary ASAIOfyi membership.
Congratulations to all UNC-NC State BME student design teams for their accomplishments!
Update: At this year’s Carolina Challenge WolfRam Innovations placed fourth in the student for-profit competition and Nervana Biomedical placed tenth in the same category. Congrats!!
